It was third and long for the Saints early in the second quarter and the Saints were backed up into their own territory. The Vikings brought the heat and Eric Kendricks pushed Drew Brees into Tom Johnson for the sack and impending New Orleans punt...or did they.

A late flag was throw in, and Tom Johnson was penalized a personal foul for targeting the knees of the quarterback.

That rule is in place to protect the quarterback, but it's supposed to be on intentional low hits. Johnson stumbled, Kendricks pushed Brees inside and then the contact was made. There was nothing intentional on this play and unfortunately for the Vikings it led to points for the Saints, thankfully only a field goal.
