Jeff Locke, punter for the Minnesota Vikings, is on the #92Noon show this morning during the 11am hour! "Tee it up for the Troops" is a great organization he's passionate about, so I wanted to put this information out there --->
Tee it up for the Troops, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and was established in 2005 by the family and friends of a soldier who enlisted in the United States Army after September 11, 2001. When the son was asked by his father what he needed, the son responded by asking his father to do something for the soldiers and their families back home. Tee it up for the Troops was created to honor that request and to recognize the needs of all veterans who have served and continue to serve this great nation.
Tee it up for the Troops mission is to “Honor, Respect, Remember and Support” military veterans and their families through the charitable support and fundraising of local golf tournaments.
Key charitable organizations benefiting from the nearly $4 million raised at over 100 local Tee it up fundraising events, include: Fisher House, Disabled Sports USA, Hope For The Warriors, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, and Freedom Station, as well as dozens of local organizations around the country that help Veterans to transition, grow, thrive, and live.”
This event is “The Longest Day of Golf for the Troops” at Bunker Hills Golf Course on June 20th. This is the longest day of the year, and we will attempt to play 54 holes from sunrise to sunset, raising as much money as possible leading up to the event.
