TUESDAY BITS AND BOREDOM ...

Posted April 15th, 2014 @ 2:01pm

Not sure what the Vikings will do at eight. Feeling a trade back to accumulate selections but not sure what happens after that. Definitely feeling defense with first pick we make.

GM RICK SPIELMAN will make at least two trades this draft, and two could come with eight and 40. We have many holes to fill and the unpredictability this year makes the May Draft exciting. Let's predict the starting lineup next year into the first game before the draft and with a right to change the opinion after:

OFFENSE

QB - MATT CASSEL. Maybe we nab a guy late first round or in the second or third who wins the job.

RB - ADRIAN PETERSON

FB - JEROME FELTON

TEs - RUDOLPH, ELLISON

OL - KALIL, BACA (LG), SULLIVAN, FUSCO, LOADHOLT

WRs - JENNINGS, PATTERSON, WRIGHT, guy we draft wins fourth WR spot.

DEFENSE

RDE - EVERSON GRIFFEN. COREY WOOTEN back-up

NT - LINVAL JOSEPH

DT - SHARRIF FLOYD

LDE - BRIAN ROBISON. Back-up guy we draft. Would prefer drafting DL rather high with position flex. so Everson can stay outside.

OLB - GREENWAY. Plays nickel, runs solo in dime, has best year of his career.

MLB - MIKE MAUTI. Feeling he wins the job and AUDIE COLE backs up. JASPER BRINKLEY has good chance to win job. If we trade back from eight Alabama's C.J. MOSLEY could land here

OLB - GERALD HODGES favored to win it now. If we draft UCLA'S ANTHONY BARR he'll start and play nickel with Greenway. Drafted OLB has terrific chance to win base OLB job.

CB - XAVIER RHODES

CB - CAPTAIN MUNNERLYN

NICKLE CB - JOSH ROBINSON favored as of now. If we trade back from eight OSU's JUSTIN GILBERT could be third CB.

SS: HARRISON SMITH

FS: KURT COLEMAN. Yep, guy we just signed is a true FS, and Smith might be best suited closer to the line and free lancing. ZIMMER rotated three safeties last year in Cincy and might do it here.

Not much shock and/or awe here, just "something to do."
