I went live with the Oscars, DVRed latest True Detective installment. Will I regret it for the rest of my life (because there's still nothing like fresh out of the hopper)? Critics tell me no, that the latest episode was a bit disappointing. I plan on watching tonight, unless Giovannsie wants to watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for the 37th time.....

Twins have already announced Sano surgery is a success, even though it has yet to be officially scheduled....If RPitino's Gophers truly want to make a statement for NCAA bracketologists, they not only rout Penn State, they win a pair of conference tournament games....Further proof that we are Done As A Society: Breathless minute-by-minute reports on Gophers Pro Day. Even more frightening: There are people who actually care....

Most honest, poignant, unscripted Oscars moment has to be Bill Murray paying homage to his guy Harold Ramis, as Murray, along with Amy Adams, is presenting nominees for best cinematography. "Oh, we forgot one: Harold Ramis for Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day."....

Suggestion: Let's propose a new NCAA rule (if the NCAA is even allowed to institute them anymore). If the home team wins, the home team fans are required to rush the floor. Then we do away with all the debate and teeth-gnashing over the what/when/how appropriateness etiquette. Better yet, if you require students to rush the floor, the contrarians among them may well refuse to do so. And that would be a good thing, wouldn't it?

Does it bother anybody else that there seemed to be more venom online last night for Kim Novak than Vladimir Putin?
