Target Field Becomes First MLB Stadium to Debut Self-Serve Beer Stations

Minneapolis, MN - In it's fourth season of existence, it's not too late for Target Field to continue experiencing new "firsts". The interesting thing about the first that occurred Sunday afternoon in Minneapolis, was that it was a first for the entirety of Major League Baseball.

Sunday afternoon, in a familiar loss against the Yankees, the Minnesota Twins became the first ballpark in the MLB to debut Self Serve Beer Stations.

In accordance with next weekend's All-Star Game festivities, two "Draft Serv" Machines opened for business yesterday. Fans attending this weekend's events and Twins games into the future now have the ability to show their ID, purchase a preloaded $10 or $20 card ($50 cards also available during All-Star weekend only) and fill brews at their leisure.

To begin the program (a partnership between Delaware North and Anheuser-Busch), fans will have their choice between Bud or Bud Light at .38 cents an ounce and Shock Top Lemon Shandy or Goose Island 312 Urban Pale Ale at .40 cents an ounce.

The machines will allow fans to pour up to 48 ounces every 15 minutes but a paid attendant will be on hand to prevent minors from purchasing and to keep a keen eye for fans who appear to be intoxicated.
