Minneapolis, MN - Starting quarterback Matt Cassel looked sharp for the one drive he was on the field Friday night in Minneapolis.

Guiding the new-look Norv Turner offense for the first time, Cassel calmly took the Vikings down the field picking apart the Oakland Raiders defense to the tune of 10 plays, 62 yards on 5 of 6 passing. The drive was capped off by a one-yard TD run from Matt Asiata.

Cassel found comfort in second-year receiver Cordarrelle Patterson who reeled in a pair of passes before Matt found Kyle Rudolph on a crossing route that brought the Vikings to the one yard line. One play later, the Vikings were up 7-0.

It was one drive for Matt Cassel before the helmet was replaced with a ball cap and the rest of his night was to be spent on the sidelines. Taking to the sidelines with a 109.7 passer rating, Cassel's first outing was a good one.
