Eden Prairie, MN -While the Vikings were busy shoring up their secondary yesterday, they began to finalize a new 1-year contract with wide receiver Jerome Simpson. Friday afternoon Simpson signed the deal making it official.
Simpson, 28, spent the past two seasons with the Vikings and was Minnesota's second-leading receiver in 2013 with 726 yards. He will likely serve as the Vikings deep passing threat with Cordarrelle Patterson on the opposite side and Greg Jennings in the slot.
It should be noted that Simpson is potentially facing another suspension after being arrested for DUI on November 9th, 2013. Simpson was suspended the first 3 games of the 2012 season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
