Jared Allen is working on final details of a contract with the SB champion Seattle Seahawks. Barring unforeseen issues, he could sign today— Ed Werder (@Edwerderespn) March 20, 2014
Well, it appears as if Jared Allen will avoid retirement for at least one more year. According to reports, the ten-year NFL veteran has reached the final stages of negotiations on a deal with the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
Allen, 31 years old, made a second-trip out to Seattle earlier Thursday morning after making a stop in Dallas earlier this week. Jared is currently 12th on the all-time NFL sacks list (128.5 sacks) and will take on an interesting role with the Seahawks.
Jared is the only player in the NFL to have reached double-digit sacks over the past seven seasons and believes that there is still a little more left in the tank.
