According to Fox Sports NFL Reporter Alex Marvez, the Vikings have made their first external free agent signing of 2014:
Joseph was drafted in the 2nd round at pick 46 by the Giants in 2010 out of East Carolina. At 6'4" and 323 pounds, Joseph fits the role of run-stopping defensive tackle, much in the mold of Pat Williams, and at 25 years of age he could have his best days ahead of him.
In 53 games with the Giants, Joseph had 175 tackles and 9 sacks.
**Update -- Adam Schefter has reported details of the terms:
Vikings gave former Giants DT Linval Joseph a 5-yr, $31.5 million deal, per source. Big loss for NYG.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 11, 2014
