Mankato, MN -  Week two saw a little bit of movement of the Vikings imaginary depth chart. I call it imaginary because Zimmer has not shared when he will release an official depth chart, so I put my imagination to work, pulled knowledge and memories of what I saw this week and pumped out the week two defensive depth chart!

Analysis inserted below if necessary.

RIGHT DEFENSIVE END
(1) Everson Griffen
(2) Justin Trattou
(3) Scott Critchton
(4) Jake Snyder

NOSE TACKLE
(1) Linval Joseph
(2) Tom Johnson
(3) Kheeston Randall
(4) Shamar Stephen

DEFENSIVE TACKLE
(1) Sharrif Floyd
(2) Fred Evans
(3) Chase Baker
(4) Isam Faciane

LEFT DEFENSIVE END
(1) Brian Robison
(2) Cory Wooten
(3) Rakim Cox
(4) Tyler Scott

DEFENSIVE LINE ANALYSIS: The void between the number one and number two defensive line units seems to be growing wider by the day, especially on the interior. These coaches LOVE what they are seeing from Linval Joseph and Sharrif Floyd and are excited to see what sort of impact they will have on the defense as a whole. Free agent pickup Cory Wooten continues to get healthy and will provide some depth on the outside while veteran Vikings Fred Evans gives the interior depth.

SAM LINEBACKER (strongside)
(1) Anthony Barr
(2) Audie Cole
(3) Gerald Hodges
(4) Mike Zimmer

MIKE LINEBACKER (middle)
(1) Jasper Brinkley
(2) Audie Cole
(3) Mike Mauti

WILL LINEBACKER (weakside)
(1) Chad Greenway
(2) Brandon Watts
(3) Larry Dean
(4) Dom DeCicco

LINEBACKER ANALYSIS: Lots of movement within the linebacking corps this week. With many versatile players, the coaches have been able to try different things to test the varying skill sets of the backers. If for this week only, the core group has not changed with Audie Cole (SAM), Jasper Brinkley (MIKE) and Chad Greenway (WILL). That said, Audie Cole has made some strides and appears to have moved ahead of Mike Mauti as the number two MIKE, Anthony Barr has a big week and made his presence felt moving ahead of Gerald Hodges on the strongside and his increased reps could continue to shake things up as camp continues.

CORNER BACK (right side)
(1) Xavier Rhodes
(2a) Derek Cox
(2b) Jabari Price
(4) Shaun Prater

CORNER BACK (left side)
(1) Captain Munnerlyn
(2) Marcus Sherels
(3) Josh Robinson
(4) Robert Steeples
(5) Julian Posey
(6) Kendall James

CORNER BACK ANALYSIS: Xavier Rhodes is still getting number one reps on the right side but has not looked particularly good. Dropping easy picks and finding himself a half step in the wrong direction shows he's still having a tough time grasping the new scheme. Behind him, Derek Cox is making a push for more time but that has not happened yet. On the other side, Josh Robinson has been plagued with injury at the same time that Captain Munnerlyn has returned to the field. So far Marcus Sherels has been the biggest benefactor of the extra reps and is attempting to make something out of the opportunity.

FREE SAFETY
(1) Harrison Smith
(2) Jamarca Sanford
(3) Brandan Bishop

STRONG SAFETY
(1) Jamarca Sanford
(2) Mistral Raymond
(3) Kurt Coleman
(4) Antone Exum

*Robert Blanton currently injured.

SAFETY ANALYSIS: Robert Blanton's hamstring injury came at a bad time as the third year player was beginning to firmly assert himself as that starting safety. In a Surprise move, it's been Mistral Raymond filling in quite a bit for Blanton's open reps.
