The members of the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) have ratified the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.

With the NHL Board of Governors unanimously agreeing to the new agreement this past Wednesday, the last step before training camps can open is to have a written memorandum of understanding finalized. Both sides continue to work towards having this last hurdle cleared tonight.

According to TSN in Canada and Pierre LeBrun, over 98-percent of the players voted in favor of the new deal (667 yes, 12 no with 679 of the 763 players voting).

Once the memorandum of understanding is worked out, the NHL plans to release this year’s abbreviated schedule. Michael Russo, from the Star Tribune & KFAN contributor, has reported the Wild will open at home on January 19th against Colorado.
