Minneapolis, MN - With NBA free agency set and ready to open for business in the next 48 hours, the rumors are starting to swirl. And with Kevin Love still technically sporting his Timberwolves gear, Minnesota is at the forefront of many of those rumors.
After Lebron James opted out of his deal in Miami he instantly became the number one target on the market, obviously. But to go along with the teams that are attempting to bring Lebron to town, teams are looking at other options to bring in a supporting cast that would help make Lebron's decision a little easier.
The most recent rumor has the Timberwolves front and center and could be very appealing for Minnesota.
According to ESPN Cleveland the framework of a deal between the Timberwolves and the Cavs that would land Kevin Love in Cleveland and #1 overall draft pick Andrew Wiggins in Minnesota has been presented.
Making the rumor juicier, Yahoo Sports NBA expert Adrian Wojnarowski chimed in with this tidbit...
LeBron James reached out to two vet free agents last week about joining him, IF he left Miami, sources tell Yahoo. Mike Miller was one.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) July 9, 2014
Love is clearly not the other "veteran FA" but he could still be in contact with James.
Then there's this one...
Source says Cavs also "pursuing a big." Won't give names, but hearing from other sources outside organization that "big" is Kevin Love.— Sam Amico (@SamAmicoFSO) July 9, 2014
Now to be fair, our guy, "AP Guy" Jon Krawczynski who is as plugged in as anybody in town, talked to his sources and debunked the deal...at least a little...
Re: report that Cavs and Wolves have a Love deal in place. That is not the case. Of course, things could change if LeBron goes back— Jon Krawczynski (@APkrawczynski) July 9, 2014
Nobody really knows, but the next two days will certainly be interesting here in Minnesota.
