Vikings host 3 Gophers players at 2018 Rookie Minicamp | KFAN 100.3 FM

The University of Minnesota Golden Gophers didn't have any players drafted to the NFL in the 2018 Draft, but that doesn't mean they won't have any representation on NFL rosters this season.

With the Minnesota Vikings alone, three Gophers players from the 2017 team were invited to the team's Rookie Minicamp in Eagan this weekend.

Running back/fullback Kobe McCrary, safety Adekunle Ayinde and defensive tackle Merrick Jackson were on hand today joining nearly 70-players who are looking to make a name for themselves after the draft picks have  already taken place.

In addition to those on hand in Minnesota, defensive tackle Steven Richardson is giving it a go with the LA Chargers, kicker/punter Ruan Santoso is trying out with the Detroit Lions, linebacker Jon Celestin was invited to Houston for the Texans rookie camp, offensive guard Garrison Wright is trying out for the Browns and tight end Nate Wozniak signed as a UFDA with the New Orleans Saints.

In addition to those Gophers one other player from a Minnesota school (LB Zach Bassuener, UMD) and a handful from North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin are also trying to make it on the local NFL squad.
