BREAKING: Twins C Jason Castro out for the year with torn meniscus | KFAN

It was just the other day that we learned Minnesota Twins catcher Jason Castro was set to miss 4-6 weeks after undergoing knee surgery. Today that news went from bad to worse as Twins head of PR Dustin Morse joined Paul Allen and broke the news that Castro will be out the rest of the season with a torn meniscus.

"An update on Jason Castro today who had knee surgery, was a little worse than we thought and he's going to be out the whole year," Morse told KFAN.

The surgery required a full repair of the meniscus and Castro will not see the field again until 2019. That leaves Mitch Garver and last night's hero Bobby Wilson to fill the void going forward.

More news to come as the day goes on.
