Former Minnesota Viking scores touchdown in Alliance of American Football

The Alliance of American Football, the AAF, kicked off this weekend and was all over social media with huge ratings on television as well. It was a great kickoff weekend for the country's newest professional sports offering.

In past years, this would be the first weekend without professional football. Not anymore as the AAF is here to wet our appetite for football. The overnight ratings on CBS were a 2.1 rivaling many NBA games that were running over the weekend as well.

One name that splashed over the weekend will be familiar for Minnesota Vikings fans.

Playing running back for the Salt Lake Stallions over the weekend was former Minnesota Vikings running back Matt Asiata and he found paydirt for his new team in Salt Lake's loss.

Other former Minnesota Vikings are also rostered throughout the AAF including punter Jeff Locke (Arizona), linebacker Edmond Robinson (Arizona) defensive back Kendall James (San Diego), running back Bishop Sankey (San Diego), long snapper Jeff Overbaugh (Atlanta), quarterback Peter Pujols (Atlanta), linebacker Brandon Watts (Atlanta), and wide receiver Charles Johnson (Orlando).
