On the verge of what could be yet another "snow day" for schools across the state of Minnesota, school officials are already formulating a plan to look ahead and makeup missed days due to the large number of days missed due to weather already this year.
The other week, many schools across the state were closed for four straight days due to snow and cold weather. Then the next week, another school day pushing many schools & districts to five days missed already this year. According to parents in contact with the districts, they're sitting right on the verge of needing to find makeup days for students to make up for missed time.
The easiest plan that many MN districts will be considering is to hold classes on Presidents Day (Monday, February 18th) rather than take the day off for the observed holiday.
Right now these are just precautionary plans for what could come to be with big snow headed our way tonight and again later this week. Stay tuned to your district for future school closings and plans for any potential makeup days coming your way.
