With rosters being trimmed down to 53 throughout the league today, the Minnesota Vikings saved a spot and held onto the rights for tight end David Morgan by placing him on the Physically Unable to Perform List (PUP) Saturday.
Morgan has missed all of the preseason, training camp and off season programs with complications due to an arthroscopic procedure on his knee.
David reeled in 6 catches last season but his value to the Vikings has come as an edge blocker in the run game and pass protection. Still, as MN's tight end room gets more crowded after drafting Irv Smith Jr. in the second round, Morgan will have to get healthy and earn back his role and roster spot after missing at least the first six weeks of the 2019 season.
Morgan will be eligible to return for the Vikings anytime after October 14th, 2019.
