MN Governor Tim Walz Announces Plan to Close MN Schools due to COVID-19

Minnesota Gubernatorial Candidate Rep. Tim Walz Holds Primary Night Event In St. Paul

Following the lead of our neighbors to the east (Wisconsin), west (South Dakota) and the north (Manitoba), Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced Sunday morning that Minnesota public schools will be shutting their doors to prevent further spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19. The decision comes at the hands of a recommendation from the Minnesota Department of Health.

The close is scheduled to begin March 18th and run at least through March 27th.

The move, an attempt to "flatten the curve" and get ahead of the rapidly spreading disease will leave students across the state set to employ remote and online learning strategies put forth by the schools.

According to sources, the Arch diocese of Minnesota is planning to follow suit making similar decisions and plans to close the doors of Catholic private schools throughout the state.
