Vikings potential draft prospects: LSU Wide Receiver Justin Jefferson

Heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have multiple holes that need to be addressed. This week on KFAN.com, there will be a series of draft prospects being highlighted before the draft starts on Thursday night.

Another wide receiver that should be on the Vikings radar is Justin Jefferson out of LSU. Jefferson is coming off a National Championship winning season where he was one of the go to targets for Joe Burrow.

He is at his best when he is in the slot, but that shouldn’t shy the Vikings away from him. According to PlayerProfiler.com, Jefferson ran a 4.43 40-yard dash and broke out at the age of 19.6. His 40-yard dash time ranks in the 86th percentile and his breakout age ranks in the 74th percentile.

Jefferson runs good routes, has the ability to win contested catches and has sticky hands. These are all traits that great receivers bring to the table, and Jefferson has the chance to become a great receiver at the next level.

The Vikings desperately need help at the wide receiver position, but talented receivers can be found in almost any round of this draft. If the Vikings have interest in Jefferson, it would likely cost them the 22nd overall pick if he even makes it that far down on day one.

Stay tuned for more draft profiles coming throughout this week on KFAN.com. The profiles will be addressing positions of need for the Vikings, and there will also be reaction pieces available after each day of the draft.
