Vikings potential draft prospects: Ohio State Cornerback Damon Arnette

Heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have multiple holes that need to be addressed. This week on KFAN.com, there will be a series of draft prospects being highlighted before the draft starts on Thursday night.

If there’s a theme that emerges from this series of draft profiles, it’s the fact that they desperately need help in the secondary. With Mike Hughes being the only cornerback on the roster that has played significant time, the position will have to be addressed early on in the draft.

Damon Arnette is one of the more underrated cornerbacks in this draft class and will likely be taken in the second round. He played alongside the top cornerback in this class, but he made a name for himself at Ohio State as well.

He would bring a physical, twitchy play style with very good ball skills as well. Arnette is at his best when he is manned up with the receiver across from him. He plays with a “dog like” mentality and it shows up in his film. Not only is he good in coverage, but he would also bring with him the willingness to lay the big hits. His p

If the Vikings decide to address other positions than cornerback in the first round, Arnette could be a potential target in round two. His name doesn’t get mentioned with some of the top corners in this class, but he has the capability to become one of the best at the next level. Being able to pair his physical playstyle with Mike Zimmer’s defense seems like a perfect match for the Vikings.
