Vikings potential draft prospects: ASU Wide Receiver Brandon Aiyuk

Heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have multiple holes that need to be addressed. This week on KFAN.com, there will be a series of draft prospects being highlighted before the draft starts on Thursday night.

Similar to the situation in the secondary, the wide receiver position is a must fix hole for the Vikings. Even before the Stefon Diggs trade some analysts had the Vikings taking a receiver in the earlier rounds. There wasn’t a set in stone wide receiver three, and now the Vikings are limited in talent behind Adam Thielen.

Brandon Aiyuk is another receiving option for the Vikings, but it might be a reach to take him with the 22nd or 25th overall pick. He isn’t the most athletic receiver in this draft class, but he is electric with the football in his hands.

He finished his 2019 season with ASU with 65 catches, 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns. That is averaging over 18 yards per catch and a lot of those yards came after the catch. Aiyuk would also be able to contribute on special teams, using his electrifying ability in the return game as well.

The Vikings desperately need to add at least one more exciting playmaker in this draft and that is exactly what Aiyuk would bring with him to Minnesota.

Stay tuned for more draft profiles coming throughout this week on KFAN.com. The profiles will be addressing positions of need for the Vikings, and there will also be reaction pieces available after each day of the draft.
