The 2021 version of Madden is coming out in just over a month and they have started releasing player rankings. The Minnesota Vikings have had some players snubbed from not being in the top-ten within their positional groups, but it seems as if Harrison Smith is finally getting some of the attention he deserves.
Smith will start out as the games highest rated safety with an overall grade of 95. He is ahead of some other big names at the position, such as Tyrann Mathieu, Jamal Adams and even his teammate Anthony Harris.
Harris wasn’t as fortunate receiving his ranking, coming in outside of the top-ten with an overall rating of 83. The 2019 league leader in interceptions and PFF’s best graded safety since 2018 wasn’t the only Vikings player snubbed from being placed amongst the highest rated players at their respected positions.
Danielle Hunter was also listed outside of the top-ten players within the pass rushing position, even though he has had back to back seasons with 14.5 sacks.
It is just a video game, but it seems like a recurring theme that some Vikings players go unnoticed by national outlets. At least it seems like Smith is starting to get some of the recognition he deserves for his elite play since entering the league in 2012.
