Everson Griffen signing with the Dallas Cowboys

The hope of an Everson Griffen return to Minnesota has been shut down for good as he has signed a deal with the Dallas Cowboys.

The former Vikings pass rusher played ten years in Minnesota totaling 74.5 sacks.

Griffen was dominant on the field and he was also a great veteran presence in the locker room.

Now that it’s official, the Vikings are going to have two spots with new starters along their defensive line. Ifeadi Odenigbo totaled seven sacks in a limited role last season and he is the likely replacement for Griffen.

The good news for Vikings fans is that Andre Patterson has done wonders as a defensive line coach and he is entering the 2020 season as the Co-Defensive Coordinator. He will need to work his magic on some of the younger talent for the Vikings defensive front to find success this year.

It’s going to be an odd sight to see with Griffen switching from purple and gold to silver and blue, but it now becomes a next man up mentality for the Vikings.
