REPORT: Riley Reiff "expects to be cut" by Vikings

Earlier today it was reported by Chad Graff of The Athletic that the Vikings had approached offensive tackle Riley Reiff with an option to restructure his contract in order to secure funds for newly acquired DE Yannick Ngakoue. Reiff stands to make $10.9 million this season and to date has not lived up to that contract he signed in 2017.

The other option, the team would likely consider cutting him.

Well, according to ProFootballTalk.com, NFL sources are telling their people that Reiff is now telling teammates that he "expects to be cut". Reiff playing hard ball puts the Vikings in a tough spot on their offensive line but will create $8.7 million in much needed cap space.

The Vikings made the trade for Ngakoue official this afternoon which means that the wheels are in motion and they are moving forward with their plan to sign Yannick and get the funds elsewhere.
