The Vikings are currently trailing the Bears as both teams are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive. Despite a better record as of late, this was yet another game where the Vikings came out flat out of the gates.
Now down 27-20 with time running out in the third quarter, the Vikings are going to have to start airing the ball out. Justin Jefferson will need to be a big part of that and he’s already placed himself in the Vikings’ record books once again today.
Jefferson broke Randy Moss’ record for most receptions as a rookie in a Vikings uniform with 70 catches on the season. As impressive as this is, Jefferson still has two full games ahead of him on the year.
His five catches for 83 yards on the day leads the team in receiving yards. Jefferson has been the biggest bright spot for the Vikings in 2020 and it’s critical that they continue to utilize his skill sets and air the ball out more frequently.
The Vikings just made it a one score game with another Dan Bailey field goal. The defense has struggled today, but they will have to slow down Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears’ offense if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.
