Police Chief who fired Derek Chauvin & 3 other officers testifies in trial

(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Derek Chauvin trial is in recess following morning testimony from two witnesses. The Minneapolis police chief who called George Floyd's death a "murder" took the stand in the trial of his former officer Chauvin. Chief Medaria Arradondo fired Chauvin and three other officers the day after Floyd died. The prosecution had Arradondo focus on police arrest procedures, setting up testimony this afternoon where he is expected to condemn Chauvin's actions in Floyd's arrest. Earlier, the doctor who pronounced Floyd dead said Floyd arrived at the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest, but he did not appear to be having a heart attack, as Chauvin's defense contends. Chauvin is charged with murder after kneeling on Floyd's neck during an arrest last May.
