Former Minnesota Vikings running back Ameer Abdullah is scheduled to make a visit with the Carolina Panthers this week as they continue to look for depth as they fill in for the extended injury to Christian McCaffrey.
Abdullah, who was waived by the Vikings Tuesday to make room for rookie RB Kene Nwangwu on the Minnesota Roster, was thought to have potential to land back on the Vikings practice squad.
At this point though, with an interview lined up in Carolina that looks to either not be an option with Nwangwu back to health or not to be of interest for the veteran RB.
Abdullah has spent the last 3 and 1/2 seasons with Minnesota after opening his career with 3 seasons in Detroit.
