REPORT: Vikings looking to move Danielle Hunter before Sunday...

As the Minnesota Vikings continue their quest to work their way under the 2022 salary cap while building out a roster that still has some holes in it, we're starting to hear about some of their valiant attempts to accomplish both parts.

One such possibility surfaced this week after reports that the Minnesota Vikings are actively shopping DE Danielle Hunter and their hope is to do so BEFORE Sunday when then Vikings owe Hunter an $18 million roster bonus.

Hunter is due over $25 million in 2022 and is under contract with the Vikings through 2023. While he's proven that he can be one of the most dominant edge rushers in the league, he's also struggled to stay healthy enough to be on the field and there are questions on how well he'd fit in a 3-4 defense as a standup rusher.

Still, he was the fastest player in NFL history to reach 50-career sacks and is currently sitting with 60.5 sacks, 90 quarterback hits and 6 forced fumbles over his career. Every bit of that information factors into his value via trade, at this point if the Vikings don't see him as a fit for the new defense they might just be looking to get what they can in order to get out from underneath some of the money owed to him over the next two seasons.
