Twins Issue Statement on The Passing Of Rod Simons

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins confirm the passing of Rod Simons at the age of 56. Rod passed away in Ft. Myers, Florida while covering Minnesota Twins Spring Training. 

  Simons, the owner of Rod Media Communications, produced shows such as Game On!, Go 96.3’s Go Twins Territory, wrote for GoMN.com and served as a lead anchor for KSTP-TV (ABC) from 2003-08. In all, Rod spent over 20 years in the sports media profession in various parts of the country. Additionally, Rod worked for multiple causes including his Golf for the Gift charity; raising money to help families with adoption grants.

He was a 9-time Emmy award winner and was the recipient of multiple Outstanding Sports Anchor Awards in the Midwest (Minnesota) region.

Rod is survived by his wife Pamela, and daughter Annie.
