Are you ready to meet a sweet older pup?
This is George!
George is a beautiful Labrador Retriever mix who’s about eight months old. He is currently in foster care with MN PAWS, and is very much looking forward to his forever family finding him.
A few things to know about George: he is super shy a first, but once he warms up to you, he absolutely loves to snuggle. But, it can take some time for him to feel comfortable (especially with men).
And as much as he loves people (once he gets used to them), he is truly happy when there is another dog in the room. In fact, any potential new home will have to already have another dog in it to help George adjust and gain confidence.
In addition, his new home really shouldn’t have young kids (under the age of eight) because he is super nervous and jumpy around sudden movements and loud noises.
Despite his nervousness, George is a great dog who just needs the right environment to help him blossom into the dog he is meant to become.

Minnesota Progressive Animal Welfare Society (MN PAWS) was formed by a group of dedicated volunteers to raise awareness of the plight of rural shelter dogs in the country. Every day, healthy, adoptable animals find themselves in a shelter with little chance of adoption. Many are euthanized due to a lack of space at the shelter, illness contracted while in the shelter, or a lack of community funds to support their housing. MN PAWS main goal is to pull adoptable dogs from these shelters and place them into foster homes until appropriate forever homes can be found. In addition, MN PAWS seeks to increase public awareness of the companion animal overpopulation issue and provide solutions to reduce the euthanasia of adoptable animals. All of their animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and receive initial vaccinations and other health care while in the foster program. Pause 4 Paws raises funds for 18 animal rescue organizations that have little time to raise money on their own because they are in the trenches doing the difficult work, day and night. The focus of Pause 4 Paws is to help these organizations with their life-saving efforts. The individuals who work for the 18 organizations that Pause 4 Paws financially supports are tireless in their efforts to rescue animals by providing medical care and finding forever homes for dogs and cats in need. In 2012, these 18 organizations rescued over 5,500 dogs and cats, and they vaccinated, spayed and neutered an additional 5,300. That is almost 11,000 animals!
