NJCAA Hockey Player Storms Out Of Penalty Box And Levels Referee

Erie Community College faced off against Dakota College on Sunday in the NJCAA national title game but the game came to a violent and rather unexpected end.

Brandon Day, a freshman for Erie Community College, stormed out of the penalty box late in the third period and viciously attacked a referee, sending him to the ice where he remained down for an extended period of time.

Dakota College was up 7-4 at the time and the game was immediately called.

Day's attack came just minutes after Dakota College scored three-straight goals to take a 7-4 lead and all but win the game.

It was reported by WKBW that Day was taken into custody by police and later arrested.
