Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen had a great 2016 season and is now set to hit free agency; The Vikings are hoping to keep that from happening.

According to multiple sources, the Vikings have given Thielen a second-round tender of $2.746 million.

A second-round tender means that teams can offer Thielen a contract but the Vikings have the ability to match any contract. Should the Vikings choose not to match a team's offer, they would receive that team's second-round pick as compensation.

While a second-round tender is certainly a high one, I can't say it would be surprising to see a team willing to give up a second-round pick for Thielen's services.

Thielen finished last season with 69 catches for 967 yards and five touchdowns.
