The Minnesota Vikings reportedly locked up one of their top wide receivers on Wednesday, signing Adam Thielen to a contract extension.

Thielen had a great season for Minnesota, racking up 69 catches for 967 yards and five touchdowns, including a 12 catch, 202 yard, two touchdown performance against the Green Bay Packers.

Thielen was a restricted free agent with a second-round tender but, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Mankato product has agreed to a three-year deal to stay in Minnesota and remain in the purple and gold. Reportedly, the contract is worth $17 million with $11 million guaranteed.

Thielen's contract could get up to $27 million with all of the incentives, a high price to pay but one that is certainly worth it, especially for a guy who worked his way from the team's practice squad to being one of their leading receivers.
