MN Wild Celebrate NHL Green Week and Earth Hour

WHAT: Minnesota Wild will celebrate NHL Green Week and Earth Hour with fan

contest, in-game recognition and darkening of exterior sign and marquee.

 

WHEN: 6 p.m. Wild game – Saturday, March 18

             8:30-9:30 p.m. – Saturday, March 25 (Earth Hour)

 

WHERE: Xcel Energy Center and Saint Paul RiverCentre campus

               199 W. Kellogg Blvd.

               Saint Paul, MN 55102

 

WHY: The Minnesota Wild joins the National Hockey League and its member

clubs to celebrate NHL Green Week, showcasing its greening programs

and initiatives that are reducing the league's environmental impact, while

calling on fans and partners to accelerate a movement toward a healthier

planet.

Through a commitment to sustainability, the Wild organization and the

venues it manages strive to be a top green destination in the sports,

entertainment and events industry. It’s the only complex in the world

to be certified by LEED, Green Globes and APEX/ASTM.

 

DETAILS: At Wild Game: Fans are encouraged to wear green to the March 18 game

 in support of NHL Green Week and create a ‘Green Out’, and Wild players

 will wear green jersey’s.

 

Twitter Contest: From 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, through the end of the

second period, fans can post a photo of themselves wearing green using

#NHLGreen and @XcelEnergyCtr for a chance to win a Mikko Koivu

autographed green Wild jersey.

                             

Earth Hour: From 8:30-9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 25 the campus of

Xcel Energy Center and Saint Paul RiverCentre will participate in the

globally-recognized Earth Hour by darkening the venues’ exterior signs

and marquees. Additionally, the venues will turn off unnecessary interior

lighting and power down computer monitors and electrical equipment.
