Vikings Put It In Ink; Sign Thielen To Multi-Year Extension

Eden Prairie, MN (March 21, 2017) – The Minnesota Vikings announce the following roster move:

Adam Thielen, who was a restricted free agent before signing the multi-year deal, returns for his fourth season in Minnesota after appearing in 48 games with 14 starts in his first three seasons on the Vikings active roster. The Detroit Lakes, Minnesota native played in all 16 games with a career-high 10 starts during the 2016 season and posted career-highs in receptions (69), receiving yards (967) and touchdowns (5). The Minnesota State University product earned an invitation to the Vikings 2013 Rookie Minicamp and spent the entire 2013 campaign on Minnesota’s practice squad. Thielen was on the active roster in 2014 and 2015, contributing on offense and as a stand-out on special teams, including recording the second-longest blocked punt return TD in Vikings history, a 30-yard block return for TD vs. Carolina on 11/30/14.
