Twins Trevor May Has Successful Surgery, Placed on 60-Day Disabled List

Ft. Myers, FL – The Minnesota Twins announced today that right-handed pitcher Trevor May had successful Tommy John surgery on his right elbow this morning and has officially been placed on the 60-day disabled list.

To replace May on the 40-man roster, the Twins have purchased the contract of left-handed pitcher Craig Breslow.  The 36-year-old veteran was signed by the Twins as a minor league free agent on February 7 and has appeared in 539 career major league games, going 22-29 with a 3.35 ERA (535.1 IP, 199 ER), 212 walks and 419 strikeouts.  This spring, he has appeared in six games, allowing one run on three hits in 6.0 innings pitched.
