Video games can be a fun yet frustrating thing. In the case of this FIFA 17 player, it was probably more of the latter mixed with a great deal of confusion.
Surely in real time it's hard to see just how the goalie missed stopping this cupcake of a shot, but when slowed down on the replay (like in the gif below) it's clear to see that the ball actually hits a stray water bottle and avoids the goal-keeper for a goal.
THIS is why I don't play video games anymore...at least, not as much.
