Minnesota Wild Prospect Report, March 29

The Iowa Wild went 1-3-0 in four games last week. Iowa fell 3-2 in its second contest of a back-to-back against Charlotte at Bojangles Arena on Wednesday (3/22). D Nolan Zajac led the Wild with two assists. F Gerald Mayhew and F Christoph Bertschy each scored a goal and G Alex Stalock made 24 saves. The Wild dropped its first game against Cleveland, 5-1 on Friday at Quicken Loans Arena (3/24). F Sam Anas netted the lone goal for Iowa with assists from Zajac and F Zack Mitchell. F Luke Kunin made his pro debut and registered seven shots and four PIM. G Steve Michalek started the game and earned the loss, allowing three goals on 15 shots as Stalock made 13 saves in relief. Iowa suffered a 4-0 shutout loss in its second game against the Monsters on Sunday in Cleveland (3/26) as Stalock stopped 27-of-29 shots. The Wild earned a 4-0 shutout victory in its return home against Rockford on Tuesday at Wells Fargo Arena (3/28). Kunin recorded his first career hat trick while F Alex Tuch also netted a goal. F Pat Cannone tallied two assists and Stalock registered his fourth shutout of the season, stopping all 32 shots faced.

Cannone (9-24=33) leads Iowa with 33 points in 64 games this season. Tuch ranks second with 32 points (16-16=32) and Anas ranks third with 26 points (12-14=26). At the time of his recall on Wednesday (3/29), Stalock went 20-16-7 with a 2.31 GAA, a .924 SV% and four shutouts in 45 games and ranked T-4th amongst League goalies in shutouts, fifth in minutes played (2,570), T-7th in SV% and 11th in wins. Michalekis 11-12-1 with a 2.65 GAA, a .918 SV% and one shutout in 26 games and ranks T-13th amongst AHL goalies in SV%.
