If the dusting of snow that swung through the Twin Cities this morning was a rude awakening, might I suggest not waking up at all next Monday morning?!?
Early forecasts for Sunday night are tellings us to expect "accumulating snow" overnight Sunday and right in time for Monday morning's commute. A representative and friend of the station using the GEFS weather system even stated that we could be looking at SIX to TWELVE inches of snow overnight from Sunday to Monday!
Depending on which models you look at, we're for sure getting rain, approximately and inch overnight from Sunday to Monday. The way it's trending, the temperature might get below freezing meaning that rain turns into snow at about a 1 to 10 ratio, so roughly a foot of snow possible.
Take today for example, the high temp today was supposed to be 42 degrees but we're presently clocking in at 34 (as of 4pm). The models are showing signs that the temperatures are primed and ready for a sever drop to impact that forecast over the next few days.
It's obviously not expected to stick around very long but I mean come on...it's almost May, can't we cut this crap out?
