Reno teen sets all-time Twitter record earning himself 'nuggets for a year' from Wendy's!

A teenager in Reno, NV posted a tweet one month ago as a joke. The tweet exchange listed below became a mission for 17-year old Carter Wilkerson and earlier this week history was made.

As you can see in the exchange above, Carter went fishing for free Wendy's chicken nuggets and the official Wendy's twitter account took the bait claiming that if he could get 18 million RTs, free nuggets for a year were his.

Carter didn't hit the 18 million mark but he did set a new all-time Twitter record dethroning the Ellen Degeneres Oscars group photo tweet for the most RTs of all-time with 3.4 million.

Though it wasn't 18 million, Wendy's did pay up for Carter's efforts giving him the equivalent of free nuggets for a year and donating $100,000 to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption on his behalf.

Not too shabby for a kid who hasn't graduated from high school yet!
