Vikings anticipate Murray’s debut Sunday

When the Minnesota Vikings signed Latavius Murray to a three-year, $15 million contract in March, the team said it knew he would need the ankle surgery he had a week after signing his contract. General Manager Rick Spielman also said Murray would be ready for training camp. So did Murray.

That timetable got backed up when training camp opened and Murray was on the physically-unable-to-perform (PUP) list. However, Murray has been steadily increasing his practice regimen for the last few weeks after the Vikings took him off the PUP list, and last week he said there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do.

That’s been showing in practices as he is running, cutting and delivering contact by lowering the shoulder pads, all seemingly without hesitation.
