Yankees Sink Twins In American League Wild Card Game


(Bronx, NY)  --  The Yankees are heading to the American League Division Series.  New York topped the Twins, 8-4, in the AL Wild Card Game at Yankee Stadium.  The Yanks recovered from falling behind 3-0 in the top of the first and ace Luis Severino getting only one out.  Didi Gregorius hit a three-run shot in the following half frame to tie the game up.  Aaron Judge added a two-run blast in the fourth and scored three times.  New York's bullpen gave up only one run in eight-and-two-thirds innings.  David Robertson got the win.  Brian Dozier led off the game with a homer and Eddie Rosario added a two-run shot later in the first.  Jose Berrios took the loss for Minnesota.  New York advances to play the Indians with Game One at Progressive Field on Thursday.
