Vikings announce roster moves (Sherels/Cliett)

Eagan, Minn. (March 29, 2018) – The Minnesota Vikings have announced the following roster moves:

Cliett, a sixth-round (211th overall) draft selection by the Houston Texans in 2015, joins the Vikings after spending parts of 2017 season with the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs. The Thomasville, Georgia native has also spent time with the Denver Broncos, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals and has yet to appear in a regular season contest. He saw action in 42 career games at South Florida, starting 27 games while recording 134 tackles (92 solo), 16 tackles for loss and seven sacks.

Sherels returns to the Vikings for his eighth season with the club. The Rochester, Minnesota native’s five career punt return touchdowns and 10.4 career punt return average are both tops for the franchise. In 2017, Sherels averaged 9.5 yards per punt return which was fourth best in the NFC. Since 2012, Sherels leads the NFL with 23 punt returns of 20-plus yards. Sherels has appeared in 108 career games, making six starts, and has played in four playoff contests.
