For the past month, for some of the crazies even longer, Mock Drafts have ruled our world. Who will go where, who will fall, who fits? These are the questions that we've batted back and forth all in preparation for a Draft that is surely not going to fall as planned tonight in Dallas.
Still, many experts from all sorts of backgrounds have sounded off. National pundits, local scribes, the big, the small...everyone.
Thankfully our guy Eric Smith with Vikings.com compiled them all into one convenient list for us to check out. I encourage you to go check that out now, but if you're lazy, I've done the work for you.
I crunched the numbers, filled out the algorithm and found out who the consensus pick was for the Minnesota Vikings tonight, and to my surprise it's not the guy everyone had been talking about earlier in the week.
In total, 15 different names were thrown out for the Vikings to consider with the 30th overall pick. Both defenders and offensive players, skill positions and trench dogs, it really spanned the full spectrum.
Still, here are the three names that stood out above the rest as the most common names for the Vikings to draft tonight late in the first round...
1. G Will Hernandez - UTEP (7 total votes to go to the Vikings)
2. G Isaiah Wynn - Georgia (5 total votes to go to the Vikings)
3. G/C Frank Ragnow - Arkansas (3 total votes to go to the Vikings)
Well how's that for consistency. While the names on the full list really did vary, the three most common names on the list were all interior offensive lineman. In fact, six of the top seven selections were offensive linemen.
