The Minnesota Vikings have announced that they have agreed to the terms and have signed a rookie deal with second round draft pick Brian O'Neill today.

O'Neill was the 30th pick in the 2nd round of the 2018 NFL Draft after spending his college years at Pitt. He's a 6'6", 305 offensive tackle that might need a little polishing but is expected to contribute this season on the right side of the Vikings line that is rather thin at the moment. He started 13 games at right tackle in 2016 and then 12 games at the left tackle position last year as a senior.

"We felt very fortunate that Brian was there [in the 2nd round]," Vikings GM Rick Spielman said last week after making the pick. "He has tremendous athletic ability that you can’t teach. You watch his tape, watch him get to the second level, watch him pull. All the physical and athletic traits that we look for and the scheme that we run. I know if I can get coaches this type of athlete, they can develop these guys. We think this kid has tremendous upside and can’t wait until we can get him in here this weekend."

O'Neill is joining the team this week at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center for Rookie Mini Camp.
