Twins Recall LaMarre, Designate Hughes | KFAN 100.3 FM

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled outfielder Ryan LaMarre from Triple-A Rochester. To make room on the 25-man roster, the Twins have designated right-handed pitcher Phil Hughes for release or assignment.

LaMarre has played in 20 games for the Twins in 2018 batting .324 (11-for-34) with three RBI.  In nine games at Triple-A this season, he has hit .371 (13-for-35) with four doubles, one triple and five RBI.

Hughes, who was originally signed by the Twins as a free agent prior to the 2014 season, has posted a 6.75 ERA (12.0 IP, 9 ER) in seven appearances (2 starts) for the Twins in 2018. In parts of five seasons with the Twins, Hughes went 32-29 with a 4.43 ERA (489.2 IP, 241 ER) over 92 games (79 starts).
