Twins To Recall Mejía, Option Busenitz | KFAN 100.3 FM

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they will recall left-handed pitcher Adalberto Mejía from Triple-A Rochester. Mejía, who is scheduled to start tomorrow vs. the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, has made 11 starts (14 appearances) for the Red Wings this season, going 5-3 with a 3.32 ERA (62.1 IP, 23 ER), 20 walks and 61 strikeouts.  Additionally, Mejía has made one start for the Twins this season tossing 4.0 innings vs. the Cubs on June 30.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Mejía started 21 games for the Twins in 2017, going 4-7 with a 4.50 ERA (98.0 IP, 49 ER), 45 walks and 85 strikeouts.

To make room for Mejía on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-handed reliever Alan Busenitz to Triple-A Rochester.  Busenitz has appeared in 11 games for the Twins this season, going 3-0 with a 6.23 ERA (13.0 IP, 9 ER), seven walks and 15 strikeouts.
