Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they will reinstate designated hitter/first-baseman Logan Morrison from the 10-day disabled list (left hip impingement) prior to tomorrow’s game in Kansas City. Morrison, who missed six games while on the disabled list, has appeared in 80 games for the Twins this season, hitting .193 (51-for-264) with 34 runs, 13 doubles, 11 home runs, 31 RBI, 30 walks and 65 strikeouts.
To make room for Morrison on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned infielder/outfielder Willians Astudillo to Triple-A Rochester. Astudillo appeared in eight games for the Twins going 5-for-19 with a triple and three RBI.
