As the Minnesota Vikings kick off Training Camp Wednesday with the first rookie practice they announced that they will start the first part of their veterans camp later this week without starting center Pat Elflein.
Elflein underwent offseason ankle surgery and suffered through a shoulder injury last year as well. He was not a participant during the team's offseason programming seen only on the side field working out under the close supervision or Certified Athletic Trainer Eric Sugarman.
It's unclear how far away from a return Elflein actually is and he can be removed from the PUP list at any point prior to the start of the season.
