Loretta Lynn Rep Says Star Is Resting At Home After 'Brief Hospital Visit'

loretta lynn health update

Loretta Lynn's record label spokesperson has confirmed the country superstar is "enjoying a weekend of resting up at home" following "a brief hospital visit" and not suffering from "some serious issues," as a fake social media account pretending to be the singer's relative, Michael Lynn, had alleged in an alarming Facebook post.

“Please note, Michael Lynn is not a known relative and does not speak on behalf of Loretta Lynn or her family," her representative said. The triggering post in question has since been taken down.

The latest update on the 86-year-old songbird's well-being arrives days after Lynn regrettably informed fans of her absence at the 2018 CMT Artists Of The Year ceremony, where Martina McBride, Dierks Bentley, and Sheryl Crow performed a tribute in her honor.

In a Facebook post to fans, she wrote: “Well Y’all, leave it to me to go and get sick on the very night all my friends are getting together to honor me at the CMT Award Show as their Artist of a Lifetime. I can’t believe that I’m not gonna be there tonight in person, but I am watching and I’m there in spirit!”

The Queen of Country Music has suffered a myriad of medical setbacks over the past year. She broke her hip in January while recovering from the stroke she suffered at her Tennessee home in May 2017. The latter health scare caused the musician to delay the arrival of her forty-first album and cancel the remaining dates of her tour.

After making her recovery, Lynn finally issued her new record, a triumph titled Wouldn't It Be Greaton September 28.

Lynn recently marked the anniversary of her Grand Ole Opry debut on October 15.
